Welcome, Ms. Shaila Kassam

We are delighted to welcome teacher Ms. Shaila Kassam to The Hamptons School community starting in August 2024!  Ms. Kassam is joining us from Lake Bonavista School and comes with a wealth of instructional knowledge and is an educator with demonstrated commitment to the whole school community.  She will be an excellent addition to our school and the Grade 3 / 4 Teaching Team! Welcome Ms. Valerie Garratt!

We are excited to welcome Ms. Garratt to the Hamptons School in the position of Library Assistant! Val is an experienced Library and Learning Commons Assistant that is joining us from King George School.  Her love of literacy and reading will shine through her work with our students.  Welcome, Ms. Garratt!

Class Configurations

When we prepare class lists for the next school year, many considerations are made to ensure equity in the classroom. This includes balancing academic needs, social-emotional learning needs, and overall inclusivity and diversity. Please note that we do not take requests for certain teachers.  Additionally, there may also be shifts in our grade team configurations. Our internal process is a rigorous one, and we ask that you trust us to ensure that your child will be placed in a class where they will be most successful.

At the School Council AGM in May class configurations were shared with those present.  With increasing enrollment we will be shifting what was shared at that time.  Please see below for the following configurations:

We are also excited to welcome back Ms. Hayashi (Administrative Assistant), Ms. James (Educational Assistant), Ms. Wood (Educational Assistant), Ms. Diana (Lunch Room Supervisor), Ms. Dolly (Lunchroom Supervisor), Ms. Sara (Lunchroom Supervisor) and Mr. Tony (Facility Operator).

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Ms. Aliya Awan who will be finishing a temporary contract at our school on June 27^th.  “Ms. A” has been integral to student success in our school and we hope to be able to work with her again soon!

National Indigenous People’s Day

National Indigenous Peoples Day is a significant occasion dedicated to honoring and recognizing the rich cultures, contributions, and histories of Indigenous peoples. Celebrated annually on June 21 in Canada, this day coincides with the summer solstice, a date that holds cultural significance for many Indigenous communities.  This year we recognized this important day by reading stories by Indigenous Authors, doing a school-wide acknowledgement of the land and by playing traditional Blackfoot games/sports including Rattler, the Bone Game, Make the Stick Jump and Line Tag.

Healthy Hunger – Thank You! 

This year we had the most amount of Healthy Hunger lunches available ever!  This would not have been possible without the outstanding efforts of parents Stephanie and Erica.  Thank you so much for your time and dedication!

Lost and Found

We have placed all lost and found items on tables in the main hallway outside the office. We have returned any labelled items.  We will be placing these items outside the main entrance on the last two dismissals next week.  Please take a look through the items.  Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity.
