This Week at The Hamptons School
In Kindergarten students focused on the numbers 8, 9 and 10 as part of their math curriculum. In ELAL students read the story “The Bear Snores on”, predicted the ending and then worked on story sequencing.
In Grade One students have been continuing to work on breaking whole numbers into two parts. Additionally, students are working on a three-part art project featuring spring trees. Students are hopeful that their art will call spring to us! Finally, students learned about daylight savings time and became fantastic curlers in gym.
In Grade Two, students also started their curling unit in gym. In science students began to look at various sources of light and sorted them in a visual journal entry. In Social Studies students began to learn about Saskatoon! Lastly, in Ms. Ringheim’s class students published and illustrated their story based on a picture prompt, while students in Mrs. Werle’s class completed a piece of perspective art!
In Grades Three and Four students were so excited to begin curling! They channeled their inner team Alberta using the Rocks and Rings kit. In math, students wrapped up multiplication and began division. Finally, students finished their poetry unit in ELAL.
