This week at The Hamptons School

We hope everyone had an excellent fall break!  As we welcomed back students to school on Wednesday we got straight back into learning.  In Kindergarten students have been looking at measurement through the lens of comparison.  Using a stack of 10 unifex cubes students are comparing the length/size of objects in the classroom to the stack of cubes.

In Grade 1 students are learning about same and different in science using words to describe different attributes.  They are also using their senses to become better scientists!

In Grade 2 they started exploring different materials in science and did a search around the classroom to see what common materials they could discover around them!  In ELAL they focused on two graphemes “oe” “oa”.

In Grade 3 and 4 students have had an active week in the gym playing scooter hockey and ringette!  In ELAL students are working diligently on editing and revising their personal narratives.  This includes adding descriptive words, triple scoop words and looking at punctuation. In Science students were mixing materials and discovering whether the changes were reversible or permanent.  Additionally, they started to learn about natural and manmade materials.

 

Noon Supervision Registration

All students who stay for lunch are required to register for Lunch Supervision and pay for fees which are directed to providing lunchroom supervisors. If your child(ren) stay for lunch and you haven’t already, please log into My CBE Parent Account and register for Lunch Supervision. Once registered, you will be able to pay for the fees in your parent account.  Thank you.

 

Outbreak Status Closed

As of today, AHS has ended our Outbreak status that was declared two weeks ago.  However, as illnesses still continue to be present in our school we kindly ask that you keep your child(ren) who are feeling unwell and/or symptomatic home until they are feeling better.

 

Parent Teacher Conferences

A reminder to log into your My CBE Parent Account to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences.  They will take place Thursday, November 23^rd from 4 pm – 7 pm and November 24^th from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.
