Essential Forms
Each year, schools have a variety of forms that parents / legal guardians are required to complete or review and update, some of which are paper and others online. In CBE, the forms in an online format (SchoolEngage) are:
- Demographic Verification - 2024-25
 - Citizenship Information Update - 2024-25
 - Annual Authorization - 2024-25

At this time we have less than 50% of forms completed online. These forms have legal and funding implications for our school. They are due by Monday, September 16.
We are kindly asking each family to take some time this weekend to complete the forms. Thank you to those who have already completed the forms online.
To complete these forms:
- sign in to your MyCBE account
 - click on the SchoolEngage icon
 - select the form
 - complete or review and update the form
 - click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school
 - repeat steps 3-5 for each form

This Week At the Hamptons School
In Kindergarten this week, students explored patterns in math! They created patterns with actions (clapping, patting, touching head and shoulders) and drew patterns in their journals. Students counted how many letters are in their names and made a graph to represent the data. Finally, students continued to practice their visual journal routine of writing their name, drawing and coloring.
In Grade 1 , students have been working on their printing skills. In Math, Ms. Oseen has introduced basic sorting and patterning in math while in writing they introduced "star student". What is a star student? One student a week is chosen randomly and we ask that student questions. This gives students the opportunity learn about appropriate questions while learning about their classmate. It also gives the star student an opportunity to answer questions / public speak in front of a group. Each child will have an opportunity to be a star student throughout the year.
In Grade 2 , students created an art line design project based on the Canadian Flag. In math students engaged in patterning while also identifying to core of the pattern. In gym, students played Kings and Queens which is an interactive/cooperative gam. In writing, students were inspired by Terry Fox.
In Grade 3/4, students started their home journal. The home journal is a weekly writing activity that has students engage in the writing process while also being able to connect with their families on a weekly basis! In math, students continued to work on gathering survey data and graphing while in Social Studies students created a world map independently. Students were able to navigate this activity by accessing success criteria including labelling the equator, including a compass, as well as identifying the hemispheres, the poles and continents.
Terry Fox Run
Today we held our annual Terry Fox Run. Thank you to Ms. Kassam who organized the lovely assembly and Ms. Stetz's class for Acknowledging the land. We were very proud of Rayan, Preston and Elly for leading the assembly as MCs as well as Lara and Kasim for running the technology! A big thank you also goes out to one of our parents, Mr. Holdenried, for being our pace setter for our run.
School Council
Our first School Council meeting of the year will take place in-person at our school next Wednesday evening, September 18 at 6:00pm. It will last approximately 1 hour.
