Class Placement

Creating class lists is a thoughtful and complex process. Our administrative and learning teams work collaboratively, taking into account each child's unique learning needs, including:

  • English Language Learners
  • Individual support needs
  • Peer relationships
  • Class size and composition
  • And many other important factors

We take great care to ensure every placement supports a positive and effective learning environment. Given the many considerations involved, we are unable to accommodate requests for changes to class placements. We appreciate your understanding and trust in our process.

You will receive an email from your child’s teacher by 12:00 pm on Thursday, August 28, welcoming your child to their class. This email will include your child’s class placement and instructions for the first day of school. If you do not receive this email by noon on Thursday, please contact the school office that afternoon.

Open House

Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 4.  We are excited to invite all Hamptons School families to visit their child’s classroom for an interactive experience.  There will be two timeslots to choose from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm or 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm.  If you have two children that attend our school, you will have time to visit both classrooms within the one-hour time period.  More information to come soon!

Hamptons Community Parking Lot

Please follow all posted signs and arrows when using the lot. We’re lucky to have this parking space right beside our school—let’s work together to keep it safe and running smoothly!

School Supplies

Supplies are provided by the school. Students need to bring a backpack, indoor shoes, a snack, water bottle and lunch if they will be staying at school over the lunch break.

Bring Back the Blue

On your child’s first day of school, you will receive a package of information that requires your immediate attention. We ask that you fill it out and return it to school promptly.  For the first day of school, please ensure that your child knows how they will go home after school by writing a dated note to the teacher to keep in your child’s backpack (i.e. Sarah takes Bus B home daily; James will be picked up by mom).

Come Volunteer With Us!

We welcome volunteers in the classroom, on field trips and with certain tasks at school or at home. Certain activities or field trips would not be possible without the active participation of our volunteers. As a CBE volunteer, you are placed in a position of trust with students, staff and/or property.  All adult volunteers require a valid security clearance - no exceptions. Guest speakers or visitors to the school, and parents assisting their own child only are not considered to be volunteers, and do not require a security clearance.

Volunteer Security Clearance Process: Parents and guardians will be able to register to volunteer online in the SchoolEngage tab in their MyCBE account. Volunteers should wait to submit their application until they receive an email from PoliceSoluntions.ca – CPS Record Check inviting them to apply for their PIC with the Vulnerable Sector (VS) for Volunteer. This will ensure the voucher (full cost of the application is funded by Volunteer Alberta) is ready to be redeemed by the volunteer. When volunteers have their clearance document (PIC VS), it can also be uploaded and shared directly with the school through the SchoolEngage account.

Enjoy your last few days of summer vacation. We are looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday!

With Gratitude,

Ms. Bradbury,

Principal, The Hamptons
